/ About UsAbout the FestivalWho Are We?
We are the Greensprings, a rural mountain community located in Southern Oregon, less than an hour from Medford, Oregon and about the same distance from Klamath Falls, Oregon. Our residents are fortunate to have diverse opportunities for recreation, access to pristine wilderness and varied opportunities to become involved in the betterment of our community. One of our important organizations is Greensprings Fire and Rescue, a non-profit that raises funds to support the Greensprings Rural Fire District, an all volunteer district providing first responder medical and fire services.
The 2015 Dinner, Dance & Auction is brought to you by the Greensprings Fire and Rescue and the Greensprings Community in collaboration with the following local area businesses and organizations:
Box R Ranch
The Oregon Extension
Green Springs Inn & Cabins
All funds raised by the 2015 Dinner, Dance & Auction will be used to help provide essential support to the following local entities:
Greensprings Rural Fire District
is the primary beneficiary of the festival. Our residents and visitors depend on the Greensprings Rural Fire District (GRFD) as their first responder for all emergencies. The District was formed in 2009 and has provided essential services including response for motor vehicle accidents, medical first aid and fire protection at greatly decreased response times benefitting all within, and who pass through, the district. As an all volunteer NON-TAX District, GRFD is solely dependent on community contributions and fund raising events - all coordinated by Greensprings Fire and Rescue - our non-profit 501c(3) community fundraising and outreach organization. Greensprings Mountain Festival is being promoted and organized by Greensprings Fire and Rescue for the benefit of GFRD and additional community organizations. Pinehurst School Library -
Pinehurst School is a small, rural, public school serving the Greensprings community for over 100 years. Currently Pinehurst teaches 24 students in our circa 1930 school building. On the mountain we serve students from kindergarten through 8th
grade. The school is an integral part of the Greensprings community and community participation is absolutely vital for the continued success of the school. Funds received specifically from Greensprings Mountain Festival will go towards upgrading and organizing Pinehurst's library including digitizing the card catalog. As assistance has become more crucial to ensure the continued high level of education provided by Pinehurst School to the children of the Greensprings community, we express our gratitude for both Greensprings Mountain Festival's and the broader community's ongoing support. Greensprings Community Food Pantry -
Since early 2009, Greensprings Community Food Pantry (GCFP) has been providing basic nutritional needs to members of the Greensprings Community. Food, clothing, firewood and medical equipment have been provided for those in need during these difficult economic times. On average GCFP provides food for 18 families, totaling 55 individuals, with weekly food every month and is housed at and partially sponsored by the Mountain View Christian Church. The food pantry is an Access Food Shares food pantry and is affiliated with, and subsidized by, the Oregon Food Bank and USDA food programs. Funds received from Greensprings Mountain Festival will be used for basic monthly operating expenses.
